Slab progress #2

As suspected we didnt end up getting any concrete this week which is a shame as the weather was really good.

All the formwork, void formers and reo are in place ready for the pour. The 'Plantation Homes' place two doors down is now at the same point as us so hopefully we will both get some concrete placed early in the week ready for the arrival of our frame on Tuesday!! Here are a few updated pics:

Slab progress

So I went to site again today and the progress has been good. The underslab drainage, sandbeds, membrane and trenching are done. Piles have been started, some formwork and some reo is in. The void formers and reo are on site and ready to go.

Slab making progress
The main purpose for going to site this afternoon was to make sure that the extra piles we payed for had been put in prior to them pouring the slab. Here is a picture of our $700 holes :-)

Drilled holes for the piles

The slab is scheduled to be poured tomorrow - good luck with that one PH. I cant see them pouring the slab tomorrow but am hopeful given the speed that they seem to get things done that we should have something by the weekend.

And we are away!

We went to check out the site this afternoon.

As you can see in the photos the site has been cut! It is a bit harder to see but the house has also been set out by the sureyor so we were able to see the size and layout of the house. Much bigger than I had in mind :-)
THE GIRLS CHECK THAT THE SITE IS LEVEL
Our Neighbours to the west were out there today so we got to meet them. They were really nice which is really good and they were also very tolerant of the muts which is even better. They are building with Plantation as well. They are about 2 weeks ahead of us as they didn't have the delays that came with our boudary reduction approval. Should be a good gauge of what we can expect as they have the same site supervisor as us.

THE NEIGHBOURS PLANTATION HOMES 'EMPIRE'
The neighbours were telling us about how they had organised the same renderer that Plantation use directly. Plantation will still have the renderer do the work at the same time as normal (i.e. they dont have to wait until handover) This saved them $18k !! They are going to pass on the renderers details so that we can see if we can do the same.

Update on commencement

We have had word that our site supervisor and administrator have been allocated and are now familiarising themselves with the project.

The house frame has been ordered and is scheduled for delivery on the 2nd November 2010 - Hopefully they can get the slab completed prior to this (the amount of rain we have been having makes me a little nervous)

Floor plans

So here are the approved floor plans

Pretty much the standard layout but we did extend the garage for a bit more storage. We also added some extra doors (under stair and to the ensuite).
